The entire 'devouring', 'evolving', and 'special skills' shtick is somehow even cornier than the worst shounen battle manga I've read. The worst part is that Blue Lock could be good because the characters are decent, but it's so up it's own ass with the goofiest shit I've ever seen in manga that I can't take it remotely seriously.

Maybe the English translations are bad, but this manga reads like a troll.
