I recognise this, though it must have been from years ago before I knew where it originated. And this chapter sticks in my mind from back then, or the various chapters that make up the whole part. It's sad here, the mother knowing she has little time left and wants to leave behind this for her adopted daughter since she won't be there in the future to do something like this.
