Got closer to making me cry than anything else has recently. I just started reading today and I'm choking up man.. If I could give this a 10 I would, but I feel like I shouldn't out of respect for manga like the summer you were there. I'd give it a 9.9999999 if it were possible trust me. Thank you author, thank you translators, thank you, Heath and Lily.

I just did some rough calculations for how long Heath would have to wait to see Lily again and it would be approximately 94-ish years based on medieval conception generally being 18-24 and averaging it to 20 (while subtracting about 6 years for the kids age) could be longer of course considering that the world isn't fully non-magical/non-mystical and generally could be different.

However that'd be really sad imagine living and travelling alone for more or less 100 years.

maybe more like 80-70 years lol because I assume Lily lived longer than a day

I read this when it was released, and after re reading it, i remember why i like this so much.
this is how you should end this type of story, the difference in lifespan sometimes is brushed aside.

okay, listen. i'm a big fan of happy endings and i still would've been okay with this one if only we got the wedding chapter prior. there wasn't a proper build up to such a gut wrenching time skip, it really felt like maybe i skipped a chapter accidentally, then the realization hit and i felt like the shell shocked soldier guy in this overused image.

the wedding chapter would be perfect as a bridge connecting the present, showing us how will the rest of their life together look like and just kinda to say goodbye to the characters, and the future when Lily is gone. the last page of ch. 49 where they both propose to each other and the immediate time skip 100 years ahead is just way too abrupt. it doesn't feel well planned out, it feels like the author wanted to end the story asap. it's also apparent when Heath dies and Lily is still blind which doesn't make any sense and it would've been a beautiful and touching moment when Lily could finally see her entire world for the first time. it's like being blind is her personality trait. like she wouldn't have been Lily if she wasn't blind.

despite its, i guess, subjective flaws i really loved this manga up to the 49th chapter, the depiction of intimacy is like i've never seen before in any media and i really loved the characters

Way longer then that. She was her grandchild's grandchild, so if we count Marie as gen 1, then Viola would be gen 6. And given how old Lily's father was, the existence of magic, and that Marie's family was of high standing (possibly low nobility?), then we're lookimg at something closer to possibly push 200 years.

It's funny, I read chapter 48 after following this from the start, for whatever reason, I left the tab open in ch49 when that came out, that was over 4 years ago, today I finally made the effort to clean out my tabs, call it a digital hoarding problem, and i realized i was just missing the last 2 chapters, so i said what the hell and went through them, it brought me to the brink of tears, havent had that in a while, went through a break up earlier this year, a long relationship, so i've been feeling numb since.

Thank you, silly gay manga about marginalized people, thank you...
