He wanted to drink with her alone so he can confess. If you can tell from her pause and sweat, she's not interested.
In general, I don't think women appreciate it when the most minute things get you thinking they like you back and confessing. In this case (based on tropes) he probably thought she was interested in him because she talked to him that one time when he was down

Obviously she wasn't, she was just barely concerned with a fellow coworker.

oh no, how dare someone want to confess their feelings, a crime.

Cus like he is totally able to see exaggerated shading and sweat like we readers do. You are aware that like 90% of the expressions we get to see of characters in every manga are not what the other characters see in the mangas right? Cus if you think everyone sees how the other ones head explodes cus they touched hands, then idk how you explain the obliviousness every single character has.
Just cus we see a blush that spreads over the entire body of someone else and even beyond doesn't mean its acutally what in world is seen on the faces of the characters. So obviously it is far harder to actually read expressions for characters in the manga than for readers, as the artists purposefully draw the characters and their reactions in ways that we the readers get them, while the characters in manga don't see them so that the entire plot of the story can happen. Its how internal dialouge breaks are not as long in the world as they are for us etc.

Now how do you expect a guy to confess his feelings to a girl? Over text? Thats seen as rude or lazy by a lot of people. Show up to their place unanounced? Well thats just like the most creepy shit. So should he say it out loud in the open with everyone around? Yeah cus thats the way to make it the most gdamn awkward for literally everyone else, especially her, not for him though, since he is gone after that.

Anyway asking for 30 minutes of her time to have a conversation with her alone is basically the best way he can do this. I don't see how that is supposed to be bad at all. Also what does it matter why he likes her or why he thinks she might like her. Also obviously is not obviously at all. Idk if you've ever heard about what some girls consider signs. Literally got told that making eye contact while smiling was supposed to be a sign, or that getting greeted everyday in the morning was supposed to be a sign. If they worked together for supposedly years and she helped him once while he was down and was nice to him after that, thats more reason than many have to fall in love. Some people really need a reality check and I am ranting way to much about it.
Not even your fault, its more cus I see a lot of people having this kind of stupid mindset.

If you don't understand social cues, that is your fault. Yes, she should be more clear, but it's obviously part of her personality to have a hard time to say no to people. But likewise, he should notice that she is clearly not interested and drop the matter...but he didn't, in fact he literally stalks her because she didn't give him a concrete "Leave me the F alone you creep"
How much more do you need than "I have a boyfriend"? If you need more than that, you have some problems

Uhm there is a clear difference between "My boyfriend is here to pick me up" and "I have a boyfriend I am not interested" If one has a boyfriend that is there to pick one up then sorry but if you know the other person for possibly years, then it is completely reasonable to just walk with them till they are with said boyfriend. Thats just something that one does. Idk what kind of lonely life one has to live to not have other people walk with them part of the way when going home from a get together.

Sure you can say he didn't pick up the social cues so he is quite dense or smth, but just cus someone does not pick up social cues does not mean they are malicious or a bad person. Also love how you just brushed aside the fact that she was just absolutely rude to him as well. As I said again, bro just wanted to talk to her for a second thats all, she never told him she didn't want to have anything to do with him nor did she let him have that talk, that is rude, its quite literally letting someone dance around ones hand. Its like well I won't let you say what you want to say but I also let you think you can still maybe say it later. Not saying she did it on purpose, just saying bro ain't a bad guy just cus he wanted to confess and get a girl he cares about safely home or to at least to a point where he knows she will be safe from that point onwards.
