Haven't read in a while and finally caught up. Never saw the mangaka's works before, so I'm only looking at this. Also my first comment on this manga's thread.
I didn't think this manga would be particularly complicated. The last couple of chapters were pretty nice by how child-like a lot of the characters here actually are, and I like how well Waku navigated that complexity after figuring out a number of things. Though, I'm not particularly sensitive with people's emotions and I read people badly often, so a part of me can't seem to believe that someone with that level of navigation could exist as a 16yo. I usually need things spelled out for me properly so I'm inclined to ask immediately if I don't understand something, and while undiagnosed I'm pretty sure that I'm on the spectrum. But Waku makes for a good role model and inspiration for others. Kinda jealous of his capabilities, tbh.
That being said about the positivity I have for this manga, I do think that it's a shame that the art is kinda stiff at times, and maybe some of the more comedic faces feel strangely dated. The larger panels look amazing, and I think that a lot of the wide double-spreads have great detail that I enjoy looking at. But idk, I feel like a number of the panels feel like they're honest to a fault? It's not that they're bad, but I don't really find them memorable as much as the interactions they're trying to depict is.
