i am still hoping that the mom here will take a different route and not be one of those "stage moms".

like shes been allowed to do whatever she wants outside of work hours and as long as it wont hinder her work. i havent seen anything that severe besides her being more of a manager than a mother.

she was allowed to go to the cultural festival despite her mom advising her not to, she was even allowed to go to their summer vacation since its now closer to her work and was during dayoffs, and currently the mom didnt do anything when she found her video call during her sleep nor stepped in when she found them together at the park.

i want to think the mom is treading this very carefully both as a mom and a manager. maybe the incident in her previous school was that severe, both on minori and "akari", that her whole focus shifted to protecting her from whatever possible scandal and bad people. altho it resulted to her seemingly caring only for "akari", it was her way of protecting her daughter.

While the workload and pacing are up for debate, you hafta remember that she chose to do this job. She genuinely enjoys what she does, she just hates missing out on having a "normal life" in the process.

Meanwhile this chapter further reinforces my opinion that the mother is oblivious rather than malicious. She spends too much time in manager mode compared to just being a mother, and that leaves Oura thinking her mom doesn't actually care about her.

But not only has the mother not confronted Oura about Waku, nor done anything to try and cut contact between them, she pretty obviously knows which "friend" Oura is going to invite. Let's reiterate: she knows that her celebrity idol daughter is going to be alone and unsupervised with a boy her age. Many regular mothers would be entirely reasonable in vetoing that. But she still says nothing and does nothing to interfere (so far).

I think the mom is taking a "wait and see" approach to see just what kind of relationship Oura and Waku have and how serious Oura (at least) is about it before deciding what- if anything- to do.

How do we know she chose to do this job? We have no idea when she started modeling or why or how long she has been doing it. For all we know she started when she was 5 before she could really think about life or what she wanted. For all we know it was her mother's idea and she did it to make her happy and she continues doing it because it is all she has known.

She started the series being unable to smile because she had forgotten how to. That is some serious depression. Look at how stressed she was everytime we see her at work. Whenever she talks about work all she says is how much it drains her. She has never said I really enjoy doing this.

She didn't become an actress because that was her own idea. She did it because the guy she has a crush on, the only guy that treated her as a regular girl, said he was moved by a play. She did it so she could make him happy, so he would notice her and move his heart.
