His name is Earth, literally earthis his name Arthur not "Earth"
I'll take your word for it but it makes zero sense, especally compared to arthur. His name is Earth, literally earth
Why does a name need to make sense? His parents decided to name him Earth, and that's it, and Arthur would not be a common name in JapanI'll take your word for it but it makes zero sense, especally compared to arthur.
because names usually make sense, that's how language works. Why does a name need to make sense? His parents decided to name him Earth, and that's it, and Arthur would not be a common name in Japan
And the joke is that his name is weird, and also, again, how would Arthur make sense in Japan? You know they are Japanese, right?because names usually make sense, that's how language works.
And weird names like Earth also show up all the time.because names like that show up in manga all the time. especially ones with british pedigree like arthur.
because it does. And weird names like Earth also show up all the time.
Both names would be considered weird in Japan for different reasons.
I can't understand your issue with the name, while insisting that a native Japanese would use Arthur, and somehow this would make more sense
Ok, I will not keep this conversation.because it does.
"arhtur" is a name, regardless of where it comes from, "earth" is not a name, ANYWHERE.Ok, I will not keep this conversation.
If you believe in it, good for you.
Ok man, whatever you say, it's a really weird think to debate so I will stop"arhtur" is a name, regardless of where it comes from, "earth" is not a name, ANYWHERE.
it was never a debate, it was a conversation, you can think whatever you want, idk why you had to be soa adversaerial.Ok man, whatever you say, it's a really weird think to debate so I will stop
Beg to disagree. Names can be whatever the parent wants as long as their country allows it. I've seen children named after US navy ships (US included in the name) and that flies.because names usually make sense, that's how language works.
and this attitude is why you get people with names like X Æ A-Xii.Beg to disagree. Names can be whatever the parent wants as long as their country allows it. I've seen children named after US navy ships (US included in the name) and that flies.
You can be pedantic about it all you want, but just because you think a name "doesn't make sense" or "it isn't a name" means nuts since people all around the world name their children after animals, objects, cities, concepts and whatever you can think about. If you happen to never have met or heard of someone with a "weird" name that speaks more about your own life experience than the reality of the world as a whole.
Idk what you mean. Since time inmemorial people have named their kids after whatever. In each culture there are of course names that got to be common mostly because they served a function or because in their languages they meant something. But a name is still just a label, and although most names are tied to some cultural or linguistic reference, there are also many of them that are just stuff people came up with and eventually caught on.and this attitude is why you get people with names like X Æ A-Xii.
