Is a little horny for me, but also aggressively cute and I love how cute it is I just wish the ending wasn't so fast and it's sad that the fmc needs someone else to validate her gender

the ending was pretty homophobic even despite having the lesbian side character. framing “live as boy or girl” and “choose F love interest or M love interest” as the same choice instead of two completely separate choices is super shitty and homophobic, and a bit transphobic too which is wild for a gender swap story.
i personally would have preferred a yuri ending, but have no issue with a straight ending. if anything a polyamorous ending where all 3 get together really would have made the most sense IMO since by the end the MC had feelings for both and both seemed to reciprocate. but thats definitely way to progressive for a 2013 story.
it getting framed as “you must be a boy to date a girl, and you must be a girl to date a boy” really ruined that ending.
mizuki is so very obviously a girl based on all of the flashbacks, and would have absolutely ended up trans later in life if there wasnt divine pranking making things easier for her. so why did the author take it in such a homophobic direction at the end??? it could even have been framed as her internal struggle of overcoming internalized homophobia, and the scene with fujiwara at the end saying she accepts mizuki no matter what making her realize she can live as a girl and still like fujiwara or takeru without fretting over the choice so much.
nothing needs to change in the story really. the only issue is how blatant the homophobic authorial intent is! just a few minor tweak’s to like, 2 pages of dialogue surrounding her choice and this could be a phenomenal manga.
really annoyed by this one. feels like i wasted 7 hours even though it was very good until the ending.
