I wanted to like this work but when an MC is generic like this and pathetic in everything and still wins someone over so easily it becomes boring, a character who is uninteresting in practically everything winning someone over just out of kindness makes it seem like romance is something pathetic and simplistic, even more so because the MC says he is in love with the person and can't even hold the person's hand without needing 80 chapters of development

I only complained about this irritating Japanese tendency to always use the same character formula: someone pathetic in everything and someone inhumanly perfect in everything (except romance). Romance isn't something simple to build in such an idiotic way.

honestly, they steered the story pretty well from the previous chapter... resolve of male lead, little arc of the side character that quietly proves him wrong for looking at the face value of things. ultimately the best part is that it ends with the two characters being more supportive for the main couple than anything else.
