I mean, I guess he's not wrong.
Giving power to someone without clear goal is the worst thing to do, and this papa kinda lacks an inner goals so to speak.
He's (now) revolving all his life on his daughters but without any convictions as to why exactly he's doing that.
Why did he want to stand beside them? To see their smile? To protect them? To see them grow? To experience the joy of adventure?
We've seen him saying nothing of the sorts and if anything, all we see is an almost lunatic person clinging to his daughters fame just because.
The spirit making him fight his daughters kinda got the right idea there. He needs to get out of their shadows and be his own person.
But the situation is just not right for this kind of thing right now, so it probably won't go as intended
