Their families are basically all for them at this point, now we just need to fix the problem with Yamada’s work. I hate the entertainment industry. I know this series is pretty much wholesome aside from the spiciness from time to time, but it is only a matter of time before the toxicity of the entertainment industry makes Yamada do things that are not nice if you are already in a relationship. You can’t kiss someone else “just because it is your job.” Call me petty or whatever, but I think that is just bullshit.

100% agree. Norio would have to write a believable explanation on how Ichikawa would come to terms with Yamada potentially doing explicit scenes. As far as we know, he was praying for the downfall of the adaptation of Yamada's favorite manga so a sequel would be off limits. Now he might be okay with it eventually, as some people would say. But remember that Yamada stated a couple of times she wants to make Ichi happy, which she definitely wouldn't be able to, if she were to do these scenes. Let's hope Yamada has learned about the negative sides of the showbuizz industry from the last 30 chapters (fake rejection, unable to be affectionate publicly, no outside meetings, no school events, sleazy actors and now her shock after the sequel announcement) and she can set boundaries in her profession.

Time to binge it again. (Seriously, I'm in double-digits here and almost that many times through the licensed physical releases. Even got the S1 steelbook Blu-ray just for the bonus book -- though the bump in AV quality on the BD was pretty snazzy in its own right.)

Your aunt? I hope Yamada isn't planning on starting a gothic metal band and playing keyboards in it.

As long as they don't plan on sending her to a separate island where she becomes a yandere, it's okay.
I'm so happy that I wasn't the only one thinking of "so is this how uika would have behaved if they grew up together"?

I hope so, too. Very insightful comment about the negative side of the entertainment industry

Warning: it will ruin just about every other romcom anime out there for you, it’s just that peak
If it improves on what's already in the manga, I can imagine.

Dress Up Darling is pretty peak, IMO, and I have both read it's in its entirety and have/am watching it too. The adaptation elevates everything about the original and then some with extra cinematic care in particular scene that most adaptation don't go so far for.

But Clannad will always be the top for me due to it being both an early introduction to romance and anime and that lingering nostalgia. Have rewatched it more than any other show and played the visual novel. Though I will admit from a more objective view it's actual romance isn't as strong as some other stories I havewatched and read, but it's good enough and what it does with it after is peak.

I don't think the anime necessarily improves on anything from the manga, but it's a well-made and faithful adaptation. The anime's writers probably recognized that Norio's writing is what makes Bokuyaba so great, so all they needed to do was translate it into animation and not try to get fancy with making too many changes.

Thats more like what I was expecting.
Faithful, maybe even really good in some scenes, but mostly faithfully and solidly executed.

Wow Yamada's paternal grandma got some real game.

Pretty sure the aunt is biologically related cause she got similar eyes with the dad, assuming that I remember correctly.
bruh it's not so weird to have a child at 46 (Yamada is 14, aunt is 11, granny is 57)

And yeah, I would love to see a story about Yamada's folks when they were young.
Let's just imagine Sanae in "Ojou-sama" core phase (Ooooo-hohoho included) disliking and dissing poor bodyguard/waiter Yukina. XD

makes sense, then i am even more impressed by him how he even got her xD
Sanae is a food critic (mentioned in one of the extras if I'm not mistaken), so it's obvious how she met her beloved hubby.
After the revelations in this chapter, their story deserves at least a oneshot or a short spinoff.

Hold up, did they officially reveal their relationship to Anna's parents yet? Its obvious that Yamamom knows, but I thought it was still technically a secret, and yet Ichi doesn't really react to Grandma openly calling him Anna's boyfriend.
