Yes. If it's a box cutter, it's just a weapon waiting to happen. If it's scissors, it's just a cutting tool for paper. Meanwhile, there was a stabbing in my school that had this logic in place.
They used a fucking pencil. Make rules for places like schools, don't just think inside the box, make the box smaller. Never mind all that other shit, since literally everything can be a weapon anyway in the right circumstances. It's just the fuckin' optics. They wanna make the PTA feel like they're doing something to protect the kids, so they ban something. What else are they gonna do, ban everything since you could strangle someone with a backpack strap or bludgeon them to death with a text book? They just want helicopter parents to leave them alone.
