To say that Anna's career doesn't have an impact here is being deliberately obtuse, when it is the root of the problem.

I didn't say that Anna's career has no role in the overall plot, but you always reduce everything to her career, as if the moment she leaves it, all the characters' problems will be solved. Anna's career is just a catalyst where the characters' flaws, problems, and anxieties are more pronounced, but simply giving up her career won't fix that. At this stage, it will even exacerbate the situation because Ichi will start blaming himself again for the fact that Anna lost something so valuable because of him, when he always cared about what was valuable to others. And Anna, who constantly gave up on everything because she couldn't do it, will be very upset to lose the place where she was able to find herself.

The essence of their conflicts lies in the fact that all their internal problems and complexes manifest themselves in situations that are not the simplest, which leads them to make decisions that are not the best. This is Ichi's excessive caution, where he takes residual steps, and Anna, who cannot say no and constantly follows other people's decisions instead of making her own. Simply removing the situation will not solve the source of the behavior, and instead of Anna's career situation, other situations will arise where their behavior will manifest itself. This behavior is evident not only in Anna's relationships and career, but also in other aspects of her life. Using Ichi himself as an example, this can be seen throughout the entire series.

First and foremost, they need to overcome their personal fears and anxieties so that they can solve their problems in the best way possible. Anna doesn't even need to quit her career to solve this, but if there is no way out, then they will be able to make the appropriate decision without allowing their complexes to escalate. Because right now, they are not ready for such a step at all for the reasons described above.

That's not people hating one aspect of Yamada's character, that's people hating the resolution to one big part of the story, one that even Norio doesn't seem sure on how to address, what with her kicking the can down the road with the Kimioku kissing scenes.

Firstly, the story isn't completely resolved yet. I really think that the volume resolved less than I expected and that too much is left hanging, but lol.

Second, how do you know that Norio herself doesn't know how to resolve the story? And no, just because she put off the drama with Kimioku doesn't mean she doesn't know what to do about it. It's just a cliffhanger, and Norio has always resorted to them and put off things related to them to work on later. Things here are not resolved on a first-come, first-served basis, where the first thing that came up is resolved first. And this cliffhanger is important later because it shows Anna's true feelings about the situation and points to her shortcoming of not being able to honestly say at work that she can't do it.

Norio knows how to end the story, and if she is going to end it after they go to high school, he probably knows how she will develop it all. In this manga, things were never just thrown out of the story and never resolved, because they were mentioned again and again, even if they hadn't yet been resolved.

It just really seems like we are gonna have to live with "And then Ichi self-sacrifices for the sake of Yamada, again, and becomes a cuck, the end".

It's almost like the story is trying to create tension and set the stakes so that people think there might not be a happy ending. Even stories with the most predictable endings try to do this, creating the impression that a worse turn of events awaits us in order to capture the reader's/viewer's attention. And here we have a story that tries not to be too clear about where it's going, but that doesn't mean that everything is leading up to what you said here.

It seems as if people here are unable to cope with a romantic story that has some stakes, while trying not to be predictable. Or maybe you don't want the story to have any stakes that could affect the romance, so that no matter what problems they go through, they can't affect the relationship, making it fluffy. And that's impossible in a story that tries to talk about the reality of growing up and human relationships, even though it relies on specific situations to tell that story.

This was such a none issue that it makes me irrationally angry that there was even a stupid argument for literally nothing

What are the chances we actually got a LONG~ series with this one....? like this story ends with their middle school graduation...

BUT THEN, they announce a sequel right after on them in High school and them growing more as Anna's career grows and Ichi's future plans t0o...
Not gonna lie i would love that for other romcoms but it genuinely feels like the plot was almost completely lost after they got together

Came here to know what actually happened after the last chapter and it has been a month but, seems like I'm not the only one conflicted about the last chapter.

I may have missed the point as to why Yamada was even mad at Ichi in the first place, til I read the possible explanation as to why Yamada was mad at Ichi.

One thing that got resolved with Ichi's prompt action to apologizing and calling her by her first name, which is closing the gap in their relationships. Although it's a minor fix in their relationship, let's not forget that both of them are haven't matured past the point of having proper conversations about that their relationship actually lacks. In terms of Norio, she's scripting it to be a typical Highschool relationship, this wouldn't go through a more mature approach.

Yamada unhappy with food was the biggest hint for you, Ichi :dogkek:

Yeah that grumpy look when she's eating is pretty funny. Next up is the serious exam arc I hope they both make it through this

It's so over

My dissapoinment is unmeasurable, and my day is ruined. The next 13 chapters are probably gonna laser-focus on rushing to a half-baked conclusion, and at this point I can't say I fully trust Norio to stick the landing.
