This was actually a great way to give more background on the MC’s Character pretty late in the game. I had no idea he was actually a pretty successful student. Also really happy we touched on the murder stuff again. Now that I think about it, the MC has actually been fairly 2d up until now; we haven’t really gotten his aspirations or motivations or talents or what he’s interested in studying. We got that he was into murder (which initially I took as chuuni/edgy teen stuff) and then later that he liked the female protagonist... and that was about it. I really hope that him interested in psychology and specifically the mind of murders is true, and not just him trying not to look weird, because that adds a good level of depth to his character. If we’re moving towards conversations of what they want to do in the future and even stuff from their past, I’m happy. It means their relationship is a lot closer (to talk about this important and embarrassing stuff) and gives them so many more dimensions as characters (win; win).
