Huh, didn't even know an anime was coming. Neat.

The first chapters were interesting, I like this more because I enjoy the chemistry between the two, but it's obvious from the title and the initial chapters this was intended to be... Darker maybe? He wanted to do a murder/suicide with her, and hated everyone else.
The title doesn't match what the series is now really, but it definitely matches the initial story quite well - kinda wish it would go back and sort of address his psycho thoughts; like what would current him think of the murder/suicide plan now?

I think it still fits perfectly fine. The whole point is that Ichikawa was very chuuni, but like a lot of youth he got totally blindsided by this thing called "falling in love," and ever since then he's been trying to figure out who he really is so he can be sure that that is who Yamada loves.

I'm more and more revaulating Ichikawa as a chuuni, mainly because he has a clear grip on reality since the beginning, with us knowing what we didn't know when Karte 1 was published.

You wanna know what current Ichi/Kyo thinks of his old self? HE CRINGES AT IT. CONSTANTLY. He was never actually serious about any of that shit. It was just an 'armor', as he's explained a few times. He never actually wanted to go on a killing spree. He never wanted to actually kill Yamada. He just didn't understand his new impulses since hitting puberty, and got into a habit of acting like a creeper to keep people away from him to protect himself from being hurt like he was with his middle school entrance exams and old friends situation.

The story was NEVER about him wanting to go on killing sprees- it was always setup to become a love story where the male lead started off confused and reclusive.
