Oookay. I have figured out the real problem with this story. It's not shitty characters. It's not the doxxing. It's not every uninvolved person being a scaredy cat dumbass. And it's certainly not the MC being a simp or Sasaki being a "bitch" for having a guy she likes that isn't the one who saved her. The problem here is balance. The author does not know how to tell a good, balanced story. Stories can be intended to bring out all kinds of emotions. They can be intended to make you angry or sad or confused even, not just happy or excited. You can tell a good story that has a depressing or rage-inducing ending, but there has to be some positive things to balance it out or the average person is going to find it an unrealistic misery fest that isn't fun to read. A story has to have hope as part of the journey or the suffering they're reading through isn't worth it. Meeting up with Sasaki again should have been the start of the healing process, where they both get to talk about their demons, maybe make more informed decisions, maybe discuss telling people the truth so that doxxing attempts like this result in a different outcome. But instead, it's just one more straw on the camel's back leading towards the MC committing suicide. While reality can certainly have never-ending misery fests really occur, in fiction, it's too much. Reality doesn't have to abide by logic or emotional balance, but fiction needs logic and emotional balance to feel realistic. And this story is lacking both.
