Also, did Sasaki ever publicly confess? Did she ever hold a press conference or something and explain to the media that she was indeed the culprit? Or did she get out of this whole mess with no actual social damage?

One of those weird situations where the ending feels good/satisfying but the journey to it was horrid.
MC's incompetence at trustworthiness aside the people at the school and the sister would be impossible to trust going forward.
Also bullshit that Pedo Jr. was right about his light sentence but I'll optimistically assume that was for narrative reasons. You've got attempted 1st degree murder and all the damages to MC's family and others caused by his actions over the course of years methodically planned out.
I'd suggest throwing him into a psyche ward but uh...with this author's stories I guess that'd be no different from him just being free with all the other wackadoodles ready to flip to backstabbing freak on a dime, huh?
Despite the negativity you might infer here it was still a car crash that was entertaining to see where it'd bounce next.
