That is 100% not true.

Childhood friends win a lot. So much to the point that this "childhood friends never win" trope is a pure lie.

In fact, if you actually analyze anime/manga, being a childhood friend is actually a non-factor in if the girl will win or not....

In the end, it's random girl that's not a main girl never wins...

Being a childhood friend is never for or against anything. It's the position the childhood friend is in....

Childhood friendship is just a cheap way for the author to build up the relationship with no work....

If she's a main girl, it gives you an avenue for her to have her relationship without needing to build it up. If she's side character, it's an extra heroine with no effort needed....

For crying out loud, the author made me happy with the previous chapter of them actually kissing (progress?) but then ruins in by showing a far better relationship because it feels natural and without needing to focus on them liking each other...

Prez route : good route. No one will hurt too much. Mahiru can stay as His best friend and as this far I don't thing Myaa has serious love toward Prez or Sora (just being anoying yuri ****)

Mahiru route : actually really good since Mahiru has better chemistry than Prez or Myuu but on the down side I don't wanna see Prez getting hurt plus I don't wanna see Myuu and Prez ship sailing.

Myaa route : Just send author to deepest hell if this happen

Harem route : likely to happen and Myu become Sora slave

As simple as that.
