After spending a couple of months working on chapter 51 (which I think is a crucial chapter where he couldn't half-ass the art, both because of what happens in the chapter and also because he wants to give new readers who are checking out the chapter because of the anime announcement a good first impression), Jiro Sugiura has finally posted the first four rough pages of chapter 52 on Twitter.

If you've already read the roughs for chapter 51 and you're wondering what happened to Mamoru's old egg body after they moved his CPU to the android body, here's the answer.

ADDENDUM: Full rough chapter 52 on Jiro Sugiura's Pixiv.

My beloved screaming chicken robot boy.
Anyhoo, binged the whole thing after seeing that trailer for the anime. So glad I did it.

The side arcs with the aliens and uh, the one with that ojou-sama are messy though....

Jiro Sugiura is currently posting the rough layout pages for chapter 53 on Twitter. (Note that he wrote "54" in the first post but the previous chapter was 52 as far as I can find anywhere online.)

I'll post the link to the full rough chapter at Pixiv here when he's finished.

It appears to be a chapter with at least two sub-chapters, the first part is android Mamoru trying out different-tasting foods, and, yes, there is a modicum of an explanation of why a robot who doesn't even have a digestive system is even built with an eating function and the second part of the chapter features Erisu with her newborn baby sister; it's about time we saw Erisu again considering that the last time she appeared was in chapter 41.

EDIT: May 28th Oh, geez, in the fourth set of pages, there's a low-key reveal of what appears to be a fairly major revelation that I think I'm going to encode in ROT13 just so anyone who doesn't want to know doesn't read this by accident: V'z abg 100% fher nobhg guvf ohg, va gur tebhc bs ebobgf va gur cnex, gurer'f n Zvan-glcr ebobg jub nccrnef gb or Fngfhxv, zvffvat na nez naq ebhturq hc nsgre orvat uvg ol gur gehpx va puncgre 46 ohg fgvyy irel zhpu shapgvbany.

Nyfb, Revfh frrzf gb or fbpvnyvmvat jvgu bgure ebobgf abj, juvpu vf jrveq. (Decode at ROT13 dot com).
