The option that nothing happened is also high for me. All we know is that he woke up in a love hotel; doesn't necessarily mean he did some McLovin' in it. With the whole web of events and the journey to find out what happens, either he thinks it doesn't matter if he didn't sleep with the person but he's found his soul mate; or nothing happens, which is also possible.
