Shiba was weak. He could do nothing on his own. In the end, he was just a pathetic coward. Great character growth and arc for Kazu-san.

Thanks for the upload.

I'm somewhat disappointed Shiba was such a weak loser, although it also makes sense. In the end, his way of doing things wouldn't have leveled him up personally that much. He even used the orcs as a proxy to get rid of the human groups who didn't submit to him, so he wouldn't have got exp from murders. He might have killed a few students personally, but if they hadn't leveled up once yet, it would be no exp. His manipulation skills were also only enough to deal with scared students seeing no hope elsewhere. That's all he was worth.
he's a bully through and through. While the other students were fighting and getting real strength he abused his existing power without growing.

Good riddance. Interested to see what happens next with the rest of the class and future threats.

Congrats on the win but I kinda wish he had captured him to at least torture him for a day first before finishing him off or have each girl take turns stabbing him 8D

Other than crippling them or killing everyone else around them , hopefully ppl wouldn’t naively show mercy unless they were able to get far enough away to where they’d never cross paths again
That would undermine the entire "I am no longer killing you for revenge, but rather to keep my own safe" deal.

The initial premise of the series is concluded, so from now on it will be the author skill on how to cook this series further. I hope it won't disappoint.

Because that's one of the abused Japanese media tropes. "Protagonist pushes through his baser needs of revenge and through his trials he achieves such growth and character maturation, he finds it in his heart to forgive those he hates the most".

I mean look at "Rising of the shield hero",(possible spoilers) throughout the entirety of the first arc the MC wants to kill Malty and the King and even through during the trial of the two at the end of the arc he literally screams for them to be executed, he "finds it in his heart to forgive them, at the request of the Queen, and chooses to mitigate their death penalty to slavery and humiliation".
A trope the Anime producers further reinforce in the Anime adaptation of "Rising of the shield hero" by having the MC and the Queen's roles in the trial be reversed, by having the Queen seek the death penalty and the MC being the one who has matured so much he no longer requires Malty and the Kings death, so he beseeches the Queen to settle with them being enslaved and humiliated.
Counterpoint to the "finds it in his heart to forgive them" is that even later on, he makes it abundantly clear he DOESN'T forgive towards Trash, and Malty just continues to dig her hole deeper and deeper with her own hatred towards Naofumi. The ONLY reason they were spared execution was because of the Queen, implying that execution was the only thing they really couldn't do b/c of the politics that are going on in the world, and so Naofumi had to settle for dragging their names through the dirt just like they did to him.

What the anime did to that series was honestly a travesty.

Yeah, now think about all the deaths caused by the Hero in that series and how he differs from this one. The series are completely different. If Shiba had been a girl, than maybe he survives to be one of the fringe harem members, but clearly guys do not survive unless they are working with the MC here.

It's refreshing to see a piece of shit antagonist being killed so early. Usually in these stories they like to drag that crap until the very end.
That is exactly what I was thinking until I saw the wind spirit get the cleanup kill
Because it's an extremely common trope in many Japanese manga and has happened to loads of characters who have done far worse than what this guy did. I'm glad it ended this way, but let's not pretend this is some sort of typical outcome.
Yea it really wasn't your typical outcome because before I saw the wind spirit deal the final blow, I thought he was gonna survive those bullets and then eventually some random character would end up healing his wounds

Good riddance, Shiba ! That trashy scumbag reap what he have sown for the actions he committed against Kaya and the others. His arrogance lead him in his downfall and never admit his numerous mistakes. And now buddy boy, you leveled up and gain new skills. Nice chapter !
