Wow, it got axed right as it finished the setup and actually was going to start telling the story we all stuck around this long for. That really really sucks.

What an absolutely SHITTY END damn. 15chapters of building up the story, 15chapters of waiting for them to finally go to school and start the damn game plot only to literally get axed literally at the school entrance.
Glad I waited until the end to rate this series.

The idea is to give you a taste of the story and characters in an easier-to-read manga format then end after like 1 or maybe 2 story arcs to spur you to go find and read the novels. It's a pretty standard practice and I'd wager that more LN/WN adaptations work like this as opposed to just adapting the whole thing or catching up to the novel and branching off to tell their own story.

As someone else in the thread said, if you see the adaptation tag and you're not already facing a backlog of like 30+ chapters then you have to keep it in your mind that the sudden end "go read the novel for the rest!" ending is always a possibility.

Nah, there needs to be a specific "Ad for WN/LN" tag on this site, to warn people in advance if it's expected to keep going to the end of the story, or just a short snippet to advertise. Like, a really big obvious tag. It's super annoying, and makes me actively want to avoid the source material when I find out that it was just a paid advert.

For those who want a spoiler of the WN, what happened next is basically Shin and Seara being super chill with everyone at school, never give anyone any reason to bully the heroine so that whole thing never happened in the first place. And because they have been crushing all the other routes the heroine end up more or less alone the entire time they were at the academy. There's also the knight commander son whom is 1 of the capture target and was too proud of his skill end up hating Shin because Shine beating him in a mock duel/tournament.

In the final party where the condemnation is supposed to happened what happened instead was Shin younger brother end up being a secret character that Seara didnt know about so the heroine managed to capture him, so Shin younger brother condemned Seara as not fitting for the throne and Shin for allowing that to happen thus demand Shin to forfeit the throne as well as exilement for both Shin and Seara. His reasoning was Shin was look down by everyone (because no one call Shin by his title/ treated him like a prince, which is what Shin requested of everyone but the little brother didnt know about it) so Seara need to harass the heroine to prop up the prince. However every classmate of Shin and Seara came out and say that's not what happen and disprove the little bro story, the little bro got mad and threaten to exile them all but they dont care, and all the minister of justice, health etc chimed in that those 2 have created so much good for the kingdom via the research for smallpox vaccine and all the other stuff so they absolutely can not be exiled. They proved that the heroine isnt harassed by Seara but instead being harassed by ppl who hate Shin (including the Knight commander child who want to exile Shin because if Shin became king he wont get a chance to became a knight commander anymore since he did tons of bad things like look down on commoner and even Shin when Shin was participating in the tournament while in disguise) because those ppl want the 2nd prince to became king so they have a puppet king instead, and they plan to harass the heroine and blame it on Seara and Shin to exile those 2. Also there's a separate reason why the little bro did that, turn out he is a siscon whom kinda projected his siscon-ness onto Seara and Seara became his first love after his real big sister married into another kingdom. Anyway after the truth was revealed (including his sisconness) the king gave Shin the ability to decide what happened to the acuser, so Shin decided to let everything go because just having the little bro go back to school with everyone already seeing his true face would be embarassment enough, also the heroine was disowned by her noble parents and the kingdom enact some law against her convenient store chain because its disrupting the market and stuff. The WN sorta ended there with Shin telling the viewer that he and Seara have been having "night tryst" for a while now but since when is something only they would know lol

The WN have a bunch of "alternate ending" as well, there's 1 where Shin and Seara dont even bother fighting the allegation and accepted being exile, they just go over to Wiles territory to work there and stay far away from everyone else/politic and stuff. There's 1 where Shin actually fall for the heroine and decided to exile Seara, but absolutely everyone else including the little bro fall for Seara instead so they come together to overthrown Shin instead of exile Seara lol. A bunch of "whatif" like that
