Yeah, saw this axe coming. In fact, when I finished reading, I wanted to set a rating, but I had already rated it. Kept the rating. I didn't rate this highly compared to others romcoms, but it was still good nonetheless.

'preciate the work, TL.

A very famous and nasty example of an author having based the story on someone IRL was the author of To-Love-Ru, who based one of the main heroines on his own wife.

Who then cheated on him, and then they had a very nasty divorce, causing him to go into a long hiatus.
i thought he cheated on her? I might be wrong but I remember reading how the author did base Haruna off his wife, but he cheated on her. and during the divorce she claimed that bc Haruna was one of the factors to make to love ru so successful, she derserved higher alimony, and so thats why in the sequel, to love ru darkness, you barely see Haruna in the story, so he could distance any potential claim on his successful to his ex.

again I could be wrong, this was from memory

edit: ok nvm, i tried looking it up, it looks like the consensus was the wife cheated on him.

found a tumblr post and some chinese article that talks about it. Read if your interested.

Feels more like the penultimate chapter instead of the final, like there was supposed to be one more chapter for an epilogue but the axe fell too fast.

Wait, what ? This manga got axed too much 😭 And I notice there's no "The End" or something at the last page. It feels like the manga really got cut suddenly.

I’m surprised there’s no last message from the author or “end” tag on the last page. Felt very cut off.
Yes, this is what I thought. I was read several manga that got axed and still have that end tag at the last page. But there's no end tag at this manga.

At least this axe didn't feel so sudden. I guess the series got lucky to be axed right at the turning point of the story, which turned into a premature conclusion.

Not bad, not great. Very average but it still makes it somewhat good. I actually like the axe, I wasn't digging the premise or their dynamic all that much. As is though, it's short and interesting enough to give it a read.
