I'm wondering something since I read chapter 9. It took two years since Makoto put on the ring before he became a full magical boy. But then Kaito first put on the ring he became one immediately. What made Kaito so different that he he is a magical boy sooner than Makoto and without so much effort? Is this something that the author is going to address? Or a throwaway plot hole?

@HerbMontes As is it explained in the episode, Makoto didn’t have any innate talent for being a magical boy, so he has to put a lot more effort than other people when trying to reach the same point as them. Kaito had talent as a magical boy, so he didn’t have to put effort to become one.

I didn't pick up this manga at first because I thought it was going to be your usualy generic edgy and boring mahou "shoujo" story. It's actually surprisingly pure and sweet instead, pretty good stuff.
