22i should have just made 1 ending. Fuck multiple endings and fuck harem endings, the series took a nosedive as soon as the routes where announced
This was actually not a bad chapter, it implies any of the routes were actually possible. That gave me the idea for some theorizing on whether any endings can
simultaneously happen, based on three ideas:
1) as I said above, any of the five routes could have happened -Nariyuki is up for grabs;
2) Nariyuki is a good kid and wouldn't dream of cheating or two timing;
3) there are more or less clearly defined events that will lead to one heroine to win and not another;
First thing that we need to talk about is the festival jinx itself, and why it's
not relevant. The reasons for that are simple: chap 187 shows
all girls -and others with no route- getting a hand on Nariyuki in the final fireworks scene and, as we'll see, all of the events that lead to one particular ship winning happen long after the school festival.
So, now we can take a look at what endings
contradict one another, so they cannot coexist. I believe there are two contradictions like that in the story, which are:
-Uruka and Furuhashi's routes are obviously incompatible. Both girls clearly admit defeat in each others' ending. In a nutshell, in Uruka's ending she confesses to Nariyuki,
Furuhashi never does, he runs off to accept Uruka's confession, they start dating and that's that. I really liked that route ending. But there's an event shown in both endings which effectively determines which of the two wins over our Moeyuki:
the walk to the examination center. Specifically, Furuhashi can save Nariyuki from falling down the stairs and get herself injured. If she does, he takes care of her, leading them to get even closer, having their second date under the stars, all very cute too. More importantly, since their closeness awakened Nariyuki's feelings, he
rejects Uruka. Different and contradictory versions of the same timeline are shown, so the endings can't happen together. (Cont.)
