I get that artists are often their own worst critics—-and we’re all embarrassed by things we did when we were young—-but I don’t think she gives herself enough credit for this one. The scene where the
wolf and grandma are screwing and Red observes, “Grandma’s on top,”
is reminiscent of Robert Crumb. The entire comic isn’t of that caliber, but It would have been interesting to see how her work would have developed if she’d stuck with this style.
