@Epsilon04 What bothers me was that the author invest us in the father as a character who was a good parent, until he's shown having immoral practice with his daughter. But the author always tries to mitigate those issues by having him apology to his daughter about how bad he was as a dad. He is the 3rd most important character, and the only secondary character with a subplot.
He was in a conflict between his role as a father and his immoral desire.
Which is a conflict that needed to be addressed in the story and resolving this by just having him commit suicide felt easy, lazy and edgy.
BDSM is for a lot of people, a practice with a lot of immoral issues.
It's a shame to have one of your character story arc centered about them resolved by suicide.
Moreover, the reader won't be satisfied with how the story arc ends by throwing away your only subplot for the main plot.
