Is the story actually about an abusive relationship with a rapist male lead like the synopsis describes?

I get that he's supposed to be an emperor from ancient China or whatever, and back then an emperor forcing himself on women was normal, but this is a work of fiction and it's still the author's choice if they write a rape scene between the emperor and a woman who said she doesn't want sex and tried to flee instead of having the female lead give her consent.
