While the mother's antics are hilarious I feel sorry for the MC. His mother is still treating him as a kid not an adult, and is undermining him with her antics. Even if everyone else doesn't know he knows that he didn't beat that bat himself with his own power. It's like putting all your effort into winning a match and then finding out the other side lost deliberately because your parent bribed/threatened them. Which means that all the hard work, struggle and victory was meaningless because the match was rigged before even started. Hopefully Shelia is able to explain things to the Mom so help is given only when needed and starts seeing and treating MC as an adult.
