i like when the author slip joke about painful chunibyo memory

also if the plot is a bit darker i kinda expected duncan to take out graham and took his sword considering he seems to be visiting the village out of nowhere so i was kinda suspicious

It's really rare to see flat out basic communication happen between this many supporting characters and main character regarding enemies. Usually only the main guy has info to build up tension or there is zero tension at all.

Here the reader is constantly thinking

"what is the reaction of this character to the cult" "what would this character do if they knew this girl's backstory" "she revived the dad so what would this character do with their anger in this situation"
really good stuff overall feels more real
