No idea what this has to do with anything, I read hundreds of series where women are strong or even stronger than men. Hell I like women who can kick my ass. The difference is, the writing was actually good. Or it was stated to be some magic to begin with, so it made sense in-universe, never tried to justify it with "oh you know, she totally can defeat this guy, she's like a 15 year old Bruce Lee with boobs!". Weak ass comeback, try harder

I guess people's main issue is that the manga depicted itself as rather realistic. It is unlikely that a highschooler, even one who is highly trained, would win against the champion. It's like people were expecting this to be more ippo than baki (but this is much more realistic than baki).

IDK about MMA but there was a 17 year old in chess who became world champion, he even beat some of the best chess players of this generation, and some argue one of them is the greatest of all time

I get that this is manga, so I am not going to complain too much "oh but she got hit by this massive dude like 20 times" but... yeah this is very idiotic. No, they are not "evenly matched" bud. They can't be.

As I said before, Kakegurui writer can't write high stakes to save their life. It's not even about her surviving this beatdown, it's about her winning (because let's be honest, she either wins or there will be a sort of tie, she is not suffering any real consequences here). Someone talented would have had girl have a massive reality check here, maybe even put her to coma just so she realizes there are some low level thugs and there are MMA fighters

It's so bizarre people dropping this because they are somewhat asshurt that in a manga about a hot chick in a short skirt beating people up she didn't get realistically knocked out by a MMA fighter.

It’s prob becaUse it’s presented with more realistic functions while lacking any of the outlandish over the topness of Baki.

Plus it is just worse writing wise for her to win this because this guy is THE BEST.

This isn’t a world like Baki where there are several other stronger people from one place to another. This guy as far as the manga has presented is the best.

Thus, Rindou beating him at all in their first encounter seems unintresting and like a mary sue cop out.

Obviously, the mangaka realizes this and is preparing her for loss but a couple chapters ago that wasn’t a surety and thus, got people complaining.

Tbh I think people just fear Rindou becoming this mary sue who wins all fights without any difficulty which is justified considering how insufferable the typical mary sue types are.

Thankfully, the manga is self aware and is trying to give Rindou some growth before overcoming the guy and while realistically she’d never have a chance even with practice irl.

I think people will be fine ignoring it if they see her work her way up.

I think the problem with this is that Rindou is trained and it makes sense why she can beat up inexperienced high schoolers.

Plus, for the street fighter she used a move that he couldn’t break out of because only people with proper tech could do so.

And yes Baki is batshit crazy but this manga lacks that craziness that makes you suspend disbelief in Baki.

Plus it’s worse character wise for her to win here because as far as we know this guy is the strongest in the world and has trained years so it ruins scaling for her to just win.

In this case she’s never fighting the guys all at once cause they under estimate her.

She’s always belittled because they don’t see her as a threat and then she beats them up before they can team up against her.

Plus, martial arts tech can let you beat multiple guys. They aren’t twenty people at most three untrained vs her who is trained.

And she doesn’t win from special ability either and has actual knowledge (for example the grapple on the thug) that she uses to win.

I do agree people are overreacting a bit but this manga has played her strengths and weaknesses pretty straight and seems to be continuing to do so.

Plus, no one hates a female mc or strong woman. Muscle mommy fetishes are popular for a reason.

Chess is different because it is a "solved" game. Meaning that if you can memorise a great amountbof openings and know a lot of chess theory then you can beat almost anybody. It's a knowledge check game.

With MMA it is a lot more physical. Meaning that the physical aspects like muscle mass, body shape and strength play into it. Technique is very important too but it won't carry you as far comparitively (and anyone who's at the peak of MMA should have enough knowledge to at least somewhat mitigate damage).
