Reiji is a whole different animal, also we've seen him fight twice and he didn't use weapons.
That being said if this guy was able to beat Setsuna's master in a fight he's probably very strong.

i don't like how the FMC is getting constantly de-mystified by the plot. At first she's this insane mystery woman that no one knows anything about except that she's CRAZY and loves violence, and has the talent and strength to walk the walk as much as talk the talk. Now she gets a whole background, a family, a teacher, a childhood friend... She's still crazy and strong, but she's way more "normal" now, less cool.

At first she's this insane mystery woman that no one knows anything about except that she's CRAZY and loves violence, and has the talent and strength to walk the walk as much as talk the talk. Now she gets a whole background, a family, a teacher, a childhood friend... She's still crazy and strong, but she's way more "normal" now, less cool.

I mean, that's kinda the inevitable progression of these sorts of plots. It's not like she's a yokai where it's fine for her past to be a perpetual mystery. She's human, and it's inevitable that as she grooms the MC and pulls him more into her world, that we would learn more about her.

She was probably just overly aggressive all the time, not that she didn't learn anything ever. Note that after a decade she's still familiar enough with it to recover from Kirara's throw - and she also knows Zenith which seems to be a signiature technique of the style.
I don't think it's a stretch for the Dojo raider to be in N.R. It's mainly martial artists.

I actually get what you're saying. There's still a lot we don't know but I think the mistake was introducing her brother so soon, especially since that arc ended up being a nothingburger except for her and Akita's fight. He didn't even properly learn Zenith.
