Fate's vanity got the better of him. He had to make it personal by taking off the mask. I'm not sure if that's good or not. Those fools, like the Brerick household, are of little concern for him anymore. His primary concern is the madness of his own skill. You could say the secondary one is Roxy, if he really likes her and wants to protect her. I'd say he should put the likes of Chad beneath his personal attention already and only treat them as nuisances. He could have just slain Chad without ever revealing who he is. Whipping himself into rage, even if justified, might only feed the madness of gluttony. But perhaps he needs this for some kind of personal closure. I hope after this he can detach himself emotionally from those small fries.
