This makes no sense lol
The villagers mistreated him just because he was an orphan?If they ignored him because he is "useless" is one thing,but burn down his house,throw rocks at him and banish him from the village like some kind of cursed child just because his father - who was something like the guard of the city - died makes no sense at all.
Feels like the author wanted us to hate the villagers but couldn't come up with any proper way of doing it so he just went with them being evil for the sake of being evil.

Evil people don’t need reasons to do evil things because people who follow such a life tend to not use reason or logic and simply follow their emotions and believe that they are right due to growing up in an environment where there is nobody to contest their social standing everything can be explained with simple common sense and reasoning and while people can call it lazy and bad writing it is simply realistic the germans in WW2 were definitely not using logic I must say and while it’s an extreme example seeing manga readers IQS genuinely makes me wonder how some of you people can even fucking read lol
