If there's gonna be friction, at least let it be a learn able moment for the boy to reflect and improve, and not just an "obstacle" to be powered through.
It would be a waste if the whole work was spent having Nitta be one-upped by Yamada, without getting a moment to shine or improve himself (and that improvement should definitely not JUST be him accepting that he'd always be trailing behind Yamada).
