Shits fucked and all of it may not seem realistic since it's all happening back to back in this manga, but a lot of this shit is depressingly real, just doesn't happen so close to each other. Unless, yknow, you're in a similar situation as any of the characters in this series.

I definitely think everyone else is also onto something, but my read was that she didn't actually know he had cancer until she read that article. I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure the only way she'd know beforehand is if someone told her offscreen.

Someone'll have to correct me if I'm wrong, but the vibe I got from the end of the chapter was it intentionally juxtaposing that realization with Reiji reading that Acrylic dropped Nagi, like both of them are realizing that their respective idols are Gone. Not literally yet but Acrylic is never going to be the way Reiji liked it when the story started again and Esemori is probably not finishing that last book. It's distinct from early manga Chako becoming disillusioned with Esemori after meeting him in real life or early Reiji realizing that Nagi is a person.

anyways, i do feel bad for nagi too. i guess they're showing two different ways that your life can end up if you suffer that trauma, either how nagi did or how yuko did.

What with the parallels the series has been drawing between Yuko and Nagi, I predicted that Nagi must've also experience a similar kind of sexual violation to Yuko, but since it's in the context of Idol culture and the fact that she started as a junior idol while still in high or middle school, I predicted that she must've been exploited as a child/teen gravure model, otherwise she wouldn't have that same look on her face underneath the burning building like Yuko did.

I'm wondering what caused her to go down that path. Teenage naiveté and messed up adults taking advantage of her ambition in the wrong way? Being groomed or coerced by the idol culture in order to have a shot at making it big? Were her parents involved or responsible? Did they fail to properly protect her against this industry that primarily appeals to pedos? It's all so sad, it's easy to see why she so broken. I'm just glad to see Chako malding at this though, glad it didn't work out the way she hoped, for whatever reason lol.
