Cops in stories like these get flak for being useless/detached and late to the situation, but this Detective Ishibashi guy feels omnipresent as a caretaking adult to Reiji even if he's just a background character working on this case. It's pretty refreshing.

Why did Reiji let Nagi go? Who knows when he'll see her again. He did nothing to stop her, which annoyed me a lot. And Yuri is so attached to Reiji that she could kidnap Nagi and lock her in the table tennis room.

We should consider the option of Yuri being dirty just because she ran all the way to Reiji's house who's actually far from Shibasawa's. And Reiji picked on it because he doesn't want her to raise suspicions. As Nagi "absolutely" cut him off, his heart is now vacant and is finally beyond dead. He'll end up clinging to anybody who give him emotional company. As much as he distrusts and is looking at Yuri with an increasingly contempt, he still wants her around because he loathes loneliness, just like his mom.

The period between the agreement to star in a JAV movie and the beginning of the filming is about 1 to 2 months. Considering Ryou is going to obviously drag this to vol. 21, maybe this is an excuse to reintroduce Chako, Gen and Kazumasa (as well as introducing Yuko's bro) to do something detrimental for a turnaround in Reiji's nihilistic vision and make himself try to reach Nagi and, at least, have a closure before she heads to do the filmings. Shino'oka and Ishibashi's help won't be enough, and his lack of active intervention is just being worse for Reiji, as he may be actually dead inside. Besides, they don't know the depths of Reiji's Abyss and how shit his life is as his stepbro, first childhood friend and 2nd best friend/1st male cf do.

Ryou also uploaded a future chapter draft with the title of "nothing". Go and find it. Reiji may have been notified about a tragedy because he was indoors, but with his signature black coat... with an empty look.
