I don't like it when the author straightforwardly turns Sensei into a villain just to make Nagi win. Bro, Nagi is evil; she tried to drive Reiji to suicide. On the other hand, Sensei is trying to liberate Reiji from that family. Yes, indeed, Sensei has a hyper-affection for Reiji, which is understandable given her age and lack of experience in relationship. Let's not forget when Sensei entered Yuko's house, pretended to obey Yuko, saved Kazu from there, and rescued Gen's father. It's not fair when she's suddenly portrayed as a kidnapper. Sensei best girl.

I still don't get what binds reiji to nagi. It's not love, it's not fanboying, and he's no longer suicidal (I guess). I'd just let her go if I were him
How are you 165 chapters into this and still asking that question? What "binds" Reiji to Nagi is understanding.
He thinks she understands him and feels a connection. That's the whole point of the fish symbolism they share.

Considering how many people share the same default ringtones I feel Reijis conclusion only based on it that it has to be Nagi is kinda foolish

Missed parts.

-Doesn't want to save Reiji, but groom him. In a sense, the one who wants to save her own life with that is Yuri herself.

-Free Reiji from his family, but handcuff him to hers. What she had done in those chapters Reiji was in Tokyo is what is called in romcom language: getting rid of the obstacles between her and her trophy,,something the main love rival does. And Yuri's ongoing final arc is basically heraelf thinking she's living a romcom lmao

-Lack of sexual experience she brought on her own terms. She had the choice to reciprocate Mito-kun back them, but she chose not to becauae of some bullshit.

-Also, let's not forget she was already vilified since the 1st chapters when she manipulated Reiji into sex after exposing her abyss
(even during that moment, when she was exposing her abyss, one of the lines was basically something akin to depicting herself as a high value woman (I always do my beat, i'm smart, i'm good at sports and do well in school lmao), if you have experience, then you should know people who take too much pride into being nice people(tm) are walking red flags), destroy Chako's dreams by ratting her out at her school, bribe gramps out from 10 million yen to buy Reiji to mom (that shit is called slave traffic, shows how fkn naive Yuri is despite of thinking she's the most cunning fish of the pond), sending gramps to the hospital after getting herself arrested once she got free, not expressing any remorse and even hinting at her not being over yet, using Gen to win Reiji's trust back by giving him shelter when he was being a runaway from the justice, the whole Kurose household where she finally fell into Yuko's manipulation after trying to outsmart literally a more realistic version of Makima and Aizen together, stealing Nagi's phone and violating the restraining order, getting her arrested twice and her shenanigans causing her gramps death and the Shibasawa surname being put into shame by the neighbors... without showing any remorse or care about losing her gramps.

Let's say Nagi is evil, yea, but if that's the case, then everybody are on different scales, i'd even say Nagi, compared to the likes of Gen, Chako, Yuri, Esemori, Yuko and even Reiji, she's the least malignant for the sole fact that she does literally nothing if she's not told to do so. Only Shino'oka and the detective seem to be less evil, but Shino'oka acknowledged her sins and is amending them.

Keep in mind this is a seinen manga and moral boundaries should be swayed away, there's no good or evil people here, as everybody has done some contemptible shit, even Shino'oka (and pretty sure Ishibashi has done some bad shit too).

Other than proposing a double suicide (and all because she took the meaning of Esemori's book too seriously, but the actual need behind the suicide pact is having someone that could love her) she litetally had done absolutely nothing to the rest of the cast. It's the rest of the cast that was sent into a dark spiral because Nagi became a threat to their intentions with Reiji, and not to Reiji. It's ironic, because Nagi saved Yuri from slipping into the river and was concerned about Chako's whereabouts.

To finish this post, remember this story has shown how people turn into mentally toxic assholes after being rejected as persons, the whole point of Yuko and Akira's story was how Yuko became such an "evil" matriarch after having her real persona being rejected by the only person she saw as a light, but was too embittered due to her circumstances and got deluded into thinking Yuko was a demon. These final chapters show how, aside from confirming what Chako said at the very beginning (women fear being hurt by hurtful words more than being hurt by being defiled), that light can't exist without a deep darkness. Those who shine intensely hide a pitch black darkness, those who are deep down in the abyss have a weak ember that is awaiting to be illuminated.

The funny part is that Yuri... is an oddball regarding that. She wasn't rejected, but still became evil because she confused obsession and a repressed sexuality as love (her own soliloquium about her feelings for Reiji were all about herself, not about what she likes about Reiji lmao). It doesn't help Reiji was at his lowest when she got reciprocated, therefore, he fed her basic instincts.

tl;dr Yuri wanted to save Reiji from Yuko, but she ended up becoming an unhinged Yuko 3.0, with Reiji sealing the deal. Her methods are even a more rough and clumsy version of Yuko's modus operandi (isolate Reiji from everyone, only that instead if making others hate him, it's isolation in the literal sense, basically taking them out of the picture), if Nagi is evil, then everybody are, and at even bigger extents (Reiji being even more evil than her, even if unintentionally, if you think about that, he was about to murder-suicide Chako to free her from her misery as well as his and enabled Yuri's evil persona), people of light don't exist, everybody has a hidden or contained darkness within.
