If anything bad happens to Chako I'm going to be very upset

But really, Chako's concerns felt real and she even recognized when she was being selfish.

Good job, Chako. She realized she was being selfish and pulled back. Unfortunately, it's too late. Rei has wised up to what "being saved" means and that even someone with the best of intentions can easily change and drag him (or themselves) down. Sensei was the exact same way at first, now look at her. Yuri has played diplomat and stalker, none have worked. Now, we're nearing the final stage of yandere.

@TheFlash080 that slap had its reasons and it made sense, he not only broke his promise to her but never actually meant to keep it in the first place, and even though she didn't know the last part, imagine how painful it must have been, especially with her situation at home, knowing that not even the friend that you thought would never lie to you or let you down deceived you. And remember that both Chako and Rei are teens.

@Richman I shall respond in time, with a wall of text.

I like how Chako intuitively is able to piece together on her own the relationship between him and his teacher, and the fact that it not only is unhealthy but that she's the one that Reiji was referring to earlier. Chako isn't an idiot, and she can easily judge based on how Ms. Shiba reacts that something is very, very wrong about their relationship. Part of it was that she not only sees Reiji and her relationship with him in this idealized state, but that she views herself with this messianic complex, and that anyone that gets in her way is only doing him harm.

The nonverbal communication alone in this chapter is amazing. The fact that the only difference between Shiba's death glare and her loving eyes is whether or not it has reflection in them, specifically Reiji's, speaks volumes about her dichotomous nature and how easily she can go full jealousy or yandere mode. It's very intimidating juxtaposition. What's more interesting is that Chako's eyes do the same thing later in the chapter, indicating the same drive when Reiji says he doesn't want to be saved, which, given his circumstances and that the last person he asked that in haste ended up forming a very toxic attachment to him and manipulating him into sex, I can imagine why he would see any form of help as a bad thing. It's not that he necessarily thinks that the person he's asking help for is bad, but that is life is a corrupting influence that drags them down.

I'd also be curious to see how Shiba interacts with Gen, given they both have that yandere vibe about them, and that if Gen finds out about Shiba wanting to abduct him or run away with him, the two would inevitably turn to very heated conflict.

Man rei has his entire existence based on an unending spiral of misery.

Glad to see Chako is stepping up but her own jealousy is consuming her.

@TheFlash080 @Arumir

To be fair, she was not aware of the circumstances and so must have felt betrayed or jealous that he would sleep with TWO WOMEN that weren't her, and that one of them was his own teacher.

In his defense, she did pressure him into it when he was emotionally vulnerable and distressed, which is basically statutory rape and emotional coercion, which Chako would not be aware of, which you could argue vindicates him a bit, especially because it was before he knew she had feelings for him and on the night after he tried to commit suicide

@Falsien

You could almost call it a never-ending abyss

@TheFlash080 She slapped Reiji for likely a number of reasons. The biggest being that he was about to let himself be carried along by an immoral woman like a bicycle. If I were in Chako's I'd have slapped him too just to knock some sense back into him. Jealousy's a reason too, but it seems to me that took a large backseat to concern over his safety in this chapter.

@Tamerlane. Being fair, Reiji didn't owe Chako anything. It's not her business who he's been with.

@Arumir I get what you're saying man but I thought she had already noticed he isn't doing well and I mean a slap isn't gonna make him feel any better I just thought that was unnecessary.
