This chapter does reveal something about his relationship with Nagi which I found interesting. In a sense he and Nagi are one in the same, they are people that drift along with others and that they reflect other's desire back at them like with how Reiji jsut nods along to the desire of others and rarely ever speaks about what he wants. That much we know before.
So then what happens when two people that drifts along meet each other? who reflects who and what is it that Reiji saw that night that they talked about lover's suicide? He thought it was her desire and she was reaching out to him. But reading chapter 2 again it could be interpreted as Nagi reflecting his desires back on to him, in a sense igniting the light in him and making him realise he has his own desires. This is kind of what Reiji does to others, since he reflects other's desire they are able to express their desires that are suppressed ( mom wanting suicide, teacher wanting to escape, Chako's desire for escape and validation).
So then the question is? what will Reiji do if and when he realises his role in reflecting other's desire? will he change or will he continue to drift?
