There are no flashbacks here, no? The letter from the future described what had transpired in his past life. The events that are currently happening happen to be just as the letter described, as he both intentional or unintentional, directs himself according to the letter to a certain degree.

none of it is a flashback, yes, he's just copying what the letter mentioned what he did "before", after the letter like panel is gone, he's basically doing his own thing

I was also confused with the whole "flashback" thing. But after a bit of reread the dialogue scrolls are basically the MC's future self retelling what happened and the MC reenacting a lot of it until the part where he started casting magic and that was where things started to differ.
