Ah yes, endlessly fighting and learning all alone in a world where everyone gives you nothing more than empty platitudes and celebrates your status. A wonderful future.Wait, so he became a sage? So he did turn his life around, that's not that terrible.
Looks like the kinda future where he doesn’t earn respect until everyone he cared about is already gone.Wait, so he became a sage? So he did turn his life around, that's not that terrible.
Yup sadlyLooks like the kinda future where he doesn’t earn respect until everyone he cared about is already gone.
If the price is you lost everyone important to you, its pretty bad, also their world's probably pretty fucked. Enough so that he had to step up and become betterWait, so he became a sage? So he did turn his life around, that's not that terrible.
Yeah, that's pretty normal for KS Group. Plenty of series they picked up lack QC/PR and have questionable TLs, too. (At times suspected of using MTL)Thanks for the chapter, you might wanna pick up a QC or PR though
Yes, and all it cost him was everything (basicly), sounds like a good deal... right?Wait, so he became a sage? So he did turn his life around, that's not that terrible.
That is unusual. Normally in these stories the young protagonist is warned about facing certain death if they don't change their behavior.Wait, so he became a sage? So he did turn his life around, that's not that terrible.
What other stories like this are there? I'm a big fan of awful people changing themselves for the better. That is unusual. Normally in these stories the young protagonist is warned about facing certain death if they don't change their behavior.
This reads like ESL or something. An edited machine translation would be better.Yeah, that's pretty normal for KS Group. Plenty of series they picked up lack QC/PR and have questionable TLs, too. (At times suspected of using MTL)
You know, that part is also unusual, I can't really think of anything applicable. The standard setup with these 'buta' piggy duke antagonists is that the original character gets replaced by some reincarnated doppelganger who does a complete 180 overnight rather than having a change of heart on his own.awful people changing themselves for the better
Reincarnated as a villain stories are literally dime a dozen, characters with a protagonist who is a bad person but changes for the better are much rarer. The closest I can even really think of off the top of my head would be Onani Master Kurosawa, even then it's more like he BECOMES a villain and then has a redemption right at the end. Maybe stories about a 'Monster' learning to become 'Human' are a bit more common though. You know, that part is also unusual, I can't really think of anything applicable. Not really. He needed to fight in a pretty dirty manner and totally outside of Merlon's expectations to win. And even so he only won through self-sacrifice since he basically could eat more pain than Merlon. That's also understandable since Herbert was fighting with the weight of his whole future life on his shoulders. Merlon was only fighting to finally give a scumbag a much needed lesson. That said I'm not a huuuge fan of how they handled the duel. He was rewarded too much after only a couple days of work.
Nobody would have listened to him. They only listened to him after the victory because they were shocked silent. And because the winner gets to speak.I think he should have apologized before the duel and then taken his loss graciously rather than winning.
Nah, this was better in my opinion. He would have zero reason to ever approach the scumbag pig if he wasn't forced to. Herbert winning and instead of demanding something outrageus, like everybody expected, he got on his knees to apologise, that's the kind of thing that forced Merlon to heed his words. Merlon is obviously a very straightforward man. Since he lost, he's going to fulfill the request. Being forced (by his own honour) to act like he's Herbert's friend, he consequently began to understand Herbert and can have some faith in Herbert truly having changed. If Merlon is the future hero, he should be happier to see a wicked man turn good through genuine effort than simply slaying a wicked man. That said I guess this manga probably won't be super long term, and it's a monthly, so it probably needs a faster pace. But it would have been nice for Merleon to become a friend more organically than as a duel win condition, lol. Like he meets him after and piggy confesses some of his sins, so Merleon gets interested and starts to hang out with him occasionally.
