Yanno, I was initially viewing this title through a rather negative lens, but it has grown on me.
... Like a fungus, perhaps; but it has grown, nonetheless.
"Judge slowly," as my gramma used to say.
That herb looks small. Just take the whole plant alive with the dirt its growing in, load it onto a wagon and bring it to the patient. Prepare and serve immediately. It's quite possible you couldn't easily grow the plant infinitely in another, totally different place, but chances are the plant won't just die in a matter of days if it's still living in the big chunk of earth it was originally living in all along.
Hey, Y'alls come look at this poor soul trying to apply sanity and logic to a trope-driven spin-off!
My brother in loli, I agree with both your idea, and the spirit of the idea, but you are seeking intelligence from a turnip when you try to apply logic to a story of this ilk; there are hundreds of better ways to do almost any task
other than the way the characters choose to do in a story like this!
The Main Character (or MC) will often be an idiot, while pretending it was the "only way" to fulfill his intentions... even if the fate of doing it the rational, intelligent, or even sane way would merely be "other people knowing he was able to complete the task!"
It makes no sense!
Beginning to end, half of these stories make no fucking sense at all!
So believe me, I agree!
But it's a suckers bet trying to search for logic in any of it.
