You have a 50/50 chance between something intelligible and pure, unrelenting shitposting.

Do middle-schoolers really have the resolve and commitment to go into such great lengths just to be able to see their crushes?

@Tamerlane holy shit! That’s some expert analysis but yeah That’s what I was talking about by “Home Visit”. If he grows close to the MC then mc finds out he’s a customers of his moms, then all hells gonna break loose.

ah she's starting to get more manipulative. at first i hoped it was just out of desperation but now that she's found an easy way to control him, she's starting to feel clever about herself and her tactics.

clearly this will not end well. she could've played this all off as necessity but now she's directly opposing his wants with her own "needs." this can only lead to an explosively hostile reaction from Souta when he finds out it's all been a ploy.

hell, him finding out his mother's true job is another nightmare scenario that isn't even that hard to imagine happening since a woman like her is hard to ignore. i was worried at first for my boy but now i'm down right anxious.

The writing is so bad, it tries too hard to make you feel bad for the MC. It's just cringeworthy at this point.

Kinda funny how the previous chapter her mom goes "I only love my son now" and literally the next chapter after she make him her personal child labour and paying literally 1 hours worth of money for 1 day of job.

Also, here's a rather less known fact : A prostitute, if she didn't have a pimp and completely "independent", is usually VERY rich, which makes it so forced how the family is in this poor condition all the time

New here, just watched the raws and things are gonna get wild soon.
From what i've watched.
-Mom is shown to be really co-dependent and gives me some chi no wadachi vibes. Souta's assertiveness and development is indeed badly affected by that.
-Souta still doesn't know Haru ain't a prostitute. She at some moment must clear things about that rumour those guys from Hidaka and Yuri helped to spread.
-Yuri's words (THEY'RE BAD PEOPLE!) are making effect on his psyche.
-Souta's bullying at school feels all over the place, but still serves as a reminder of his social ostracism due to being poor. I don't wanna think what is gonna happen when everyone on his school discovers he's the son of the town's bicycle. All hells are gonna break loose and he will for sure be brutalized by those bullies like some sort of town's witch.
-Yuri's attitude bugs me, and not in the good way. She's shaping to be a mini-Fumi by treating Souta like her favorite rag doll instead of having the tiniest bit of empathy. I fear she will be the one who's gonna open the pandora box regarding Souta's connection with Fumi.
Btw, I'm not the type of guy that gets invested in manga, but this one got me caught.

I never really put together the parallels between Yuri and Fumi till you mentioned it.
-They both see Souta as sort of this ideal male (Fumi because he's the only thing she actually "cares" about left and Yuri because he was genuinely nice to her and not just coming off as sucking up to her) and thus obsess over him and try to limit and isolate his interactions with others (Fumi via the "job" occupying all his spare time and Yuri via trying to paint Haru as a "bad person" and get him to stop hanging out with her out of jealousy).
-The main difference between the two IMO is that Yuri seems less aware of the situation as a whole and the repercussions her actions have whereas Fumi pretty much controls the situation and deliberately knows what she's doing. So while both their actions till aren't good, Yuri's comes off as less malicious than Fumi. Plus I also think what Yuri has going for her is that she's young and has plenty of time to grow and mature whereas Fumi is an adult and from what the home situation looks like, she's been manipulating Souta for years. There's not much room for growth for her in comparison to a middle school girl with a crush who doesn't quite know how to handle her feelings maturely yet.

@LordTrollbias Afaik, iirc, in one little flashback at ch. 4, it was hinted that Fumi was a kind and caring mother to him when he was younger. Dunno why she ended so fucked up. Yakuza debts? Husband "going to buy cigarettes" (local slang to depict a father that abandons his family)?
Also, one thing i didn't notice is that Yuri's family core, as shown on ch. 5, is the most normal and harmonic one of the protagonists' trio (mom, dad and older sister), so, her being a jealous and manipulative girl is all because of herself. It also contrasts Souta and Haru's families, bc both of them come from really fucked up households.

1 yen per capsule and she wants 500 a day. Let him go work for 1 hour at a shit job and he will get at least half again that much for less labor.

Page 20 gets a different meaning after reading this with Tatsuro Yamashita's Funky Flushing as a background music ngl. Srsly, Souta is the master of funky flushings bc of eating spoiled food at his home 🤣🤣.
