EDIT - going back to ch.1 the very first pages we see that she knows she's going to die soon. Was Sakuya the one that got the snake statue installed so that she would be able to be with Tsubaki, because she knew?

So...why was the girl stabbed in Ch 1 to begin with? Like dude wasn't even robbing or kidnapping, just straight up shanked a random person and went offscreen in 2 panels. While leaving the other completely fine to weep and be a witness to a crime lol.

Sure, there's the bad luck stuff with the kid, but really? Really feels cheap af considering that the girl's soul is dead.
