It's completely the opposite, we are the only mammal animal species that has developed a gene that allows us to digest milk past the breastfeeding age, which was clue for people surviving in extreme climates while those in temperate, fertile zones had it easy because they didn't need milk to survive. Intolerances and allergies population-wise are only a thing nowadays because the harsh environment of the past made it impossible for the weak to survive, it only started to change with civilisation and imbalance of wealth. And well, I think I don't need to remind you that milk is not a water substitute...Imagine unable to tolerate milk, of all things. Like, the evolution process to make your body reject lactose is

Btw, don't feed cats with milk like in manga/anime, they can't digest it either, except for the water percentage it's bad for them.
