There can be two things true at the same time, y'know?
That the ones that threw the tantrum back then were cunts
And that Mangadex currently has a problem with cunts in the administration of it.
But the one people mostly think about didn't even have an account back then, heck, her forum account opened post-pandemic, even.
So, I would say, the troubles are a more recent phenomenon and weren't a thing back when those groups left(And rather quickly got DMCAd into oblivion anyway, like JamalsButts).

10 loli porn removed causes more outrage than thousands in the dmca because ether said something dumb, it is truly already joever for mangadex. I cannot believe the service I use for free will not take a shotgun blast to the face for me to defend my ideals.

the DMCA is a completely different story
CODA forced you because the content was infringing their copyrights. it was remove it or get busted. that the website got in a situation where the operators cant simply ignore something like this, is part of a bigger problem, but lets put that aside.

the dmca'd titles pages are still there and the not available chapters can at least be tracked.

the loli titles are removed completely along with the chapters.
and it was done secretly. or at least it was supposed to go unnoticed but it didnt.

as we know now it is more than just 10 . and i doubt fifty-something is the true number either.
also no one is willing to name the key figure(s) behind it.

at least i did not use MD for free. i pledged as dex-chan fanatic to the art corner on NC for 20 Month and i only quit on the 14th of feb. i even continued my support after the DMCA purge.
i am not mad because i spent 400 bucks on this. and if things improve and the full truth is provided to the user base i will consider picking up my support again.
