Protestant nations in Western Europe, except England, start using Gregorian calendar.
Tsardom of Russia begins numbering their calendar from the birth of the Christ (Anno Domini) instead of since the Creation (Anno Mundi)--and later this is widely adapted as international Gregorian calendar standard and that's why sometimes we spell Year 2026 Gregorian as Year 2026 AD, not AM.

Great Northern War begins with a joint invasion of Swedish territory in Germany and Latvia, by Denmark and Poland/Saxony. An alliance formed by Tsar Peter I of Russia, King Frederick IV of Denmark, and Augustus II the Strong (King of Poland and Elector of Saxony) to challenge Sweden power.
February 27
New Britain is found (by Europe, not human) by William Dampier. William Dampier marked as the founder since he proves that New Britain is a separated island, not connected with larger island now called as Papua New Guinea.
March 24
Treaty of London is signed between France, England, and Dutch Republic. Signed to prevent war, yet the war still crashes (lol). The war is War of The Spanish Succession (1701-1714).
April 18
Hungarian freedom activist, Hungarian freedom activist Ferenc Rákóczi is arrested by Austrian authorities and charged with sedition. He imprisoned near Vienna and facing death sentence, but still able to manage his escape and later led the overthrow of (or rebellion against) the Habsburg control of Hungary.
July 11
The Prussian Academy of Sciences is founded, with Gottfried Leibniz as president.
July 24
Charles XII of Sweden counter-attacks his enemies by invading Zealand (Denmark), assisted by an Anglo-Dutch naval squadron under Sir George Rooke, rapidly compelling the Danes to submit to peace.
August 18
The Peace of Travendal is concluded between the Swedish Empire, Denmark–Norway and Holstein-Gottorp in Traventhal. Charles XII of Sweden successfully force Denmark to signed the treaty. On the same day, Augustus II (King of Poland and Elector of Saxony) and Peter the Great (Tsar of Russia) enter the war against Sweden.

A Russian army invades Swedish Estonia (Estonia under Swedish rule) and besieges Narva.
October 3
The Battle of Jouami' al-Ulama takes place in Algeria with a surprise attack and ambush on the army of Murad III Bey of Tunis by two Algerian defenders, Hadj Mustapha, Dey of Algiers and Ahmed ben Ferhat, Beylik of Constantine.
November 18
Lithuanian Civil War: Battle of Valkininkai. Lithuanian Civil War is a war between Sapieha family (they're dominating the internal affairs of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania) against anti-Sapieha coalition (so-called Republicans or Confederates). The anti-Sapieha coalition is victorious.
November 30
After forcing his army of 8,000 to march from Denmark to Estonia, Charles XII of Sweden finally arrives on Narva to help them. Swedish army successfully defeats and routes Russian siege sized 3-4 times larger than them.
December 8
The formal coronation of Pope Clement XI takes place in Rome.
