It's quite quiet this fine night.. Almost quiet enough to summon the pals for a moon viewing.

What about you @Angry_Panda, you're old so you have gotta have played the OG Zelda games right? I can't be the only one. :pout:

And call me old fashion but original > remake. :boomer:

is it because they were so fucking expensive?
Err, no. It was pretty hard to convince my parent to buy any new gaming console when we already had a PS2.

I mean, the first thing my dad bought with his paycheck was that PS2, and after gaming for a week, he concluded that gaming is not a good use of his time. So... there's that, too.

Looking back... I got FOMO'd hard when I was in elementary school, not being able to follow the latest gaming trends and all that. But now? I can't be bothered by FOMO

Speaking of 3DS... I've never played any Nintendo consoles. The closest I got was DS (DesMuMe)
I liked MegaMan StarForce, and I still do now. That title screen song is one of the bebest for me
opposite for me, always had a Nintendo console. mostly the DS and 3DS.

although recently I don't give myself much time to play on the switch.

My parents were very much in the 'go outside and play, video games rot your brain' camp - this was the late 80's and early 90's, and a kid running off to play unsupervised for most of a summer weekday wasn't really too concerning. I never had regular access to a console until I got a PS2 after college, so I was certainly aware of the original Zelda, and it did stand out (gold cart, save capability, gameplay unlike anything else on the NES), but never really spent any significant time playing it or any of its successors.

Wolfenstein and Doom on PC, however.... :haa:

just finished ULTRAKILL, and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

the gameplay's so fast-paced, the sound is perfect, the music is magnificent

Gianni Matragrano did an excellent job at voicing Gabriel

fast-paced shooters are always an 11/10 in my book, especially first person shooters, but this?

this deserves a 20/10, and steals Metro 2033 Redux's spot in the 3rd most favorite game I've ever played!

🏳️‍⚧️🤨 or simply insane ? call it.

never really liked "boomer shooter" of that type cause to me they always felt more obsessed withs core the same way arcade games were, plus after a few levels they start being super repetitive no amount the weapons they have.

also, I did hear the first wolfenstein had a swastika level which you could get softlocked into due to it being a maze.

you know I'm a ladder
I can't beleive you would invade women's spaces like this dude, it's cultural appropriation.

anyways, speaking of indie shooter that haven't released yet. I've had my eye on Peripetia, Without Judgement, DEEP STATE and Core Decay for a while now. learned about them cause they were classified as immersive sim (so, games like Deus Ex and system shock). I hope at least one of them finishes development during this decade :win:.

(immersive sims fans are VERY patient)

DesMuMe 4 me too. I cannot part with PC. Tower PC. I have swapped and cleaned it many times.

The oldest working one I got as a "hand me down" from a grandpa's house is SNES ... which is still working. I got a Donkey Kong & Diddy and MK3 loot from cleaning jobs ... these years. OG is actually fun, but old TV really hurts the eyes.

No it's not loot, it's my job, and I think they allowed it.
