I use both. I just use 12 format because it's kinda cool(?) even thought it don't make any sense

You don't know Latin?! Of course you can google it, it's Ante Meridiem and Post Meridiem (before/after midday). For me it's cool talking about "00 hour/s" and it's easier to track periods, but it's even cooler using ancient timing formats.
